Winston Grand

Winston Grand is an algorithmic trading fund I started with a classmate. The fund went live in April 2016 with $300K in seed capital and a primary focus on emerging cryptocurrencies, bolstering an impressive 220% return over the 5 months since.

I grew greatly as a programmer through Winston Grand. While working on this project,I created book building software that takes in real-time market tick data for cryptocurrencies on various exchanges and efficiently constructs the book for a set depth, achieving low latency and optimal performance by implementing Red-Black Trees and Deques as data structures. I also grew adept at implementing databases. In the processing of building a full trading system, I designed a custom backend that compresses, chunks and versions tick data to meet the needs of our high-frequency trading platform.

I also grew greatly as a trader through Winston Grand. I assisted in building high-frequency trading strategies that take advantage of latent arbitrage opportunities between and within cryptocurrency exchanges. To handle exeuction, I assisted designing a system with mature portfolio and risk management as well as complex entry/exit technique.

KIPP St. Louis

KIPP St. Louis is a charter school network that helps children from low-income households surpass socioeconomic hurdles and attend college. As of Fall 2015, they provide an extended day, extended year educational program that serves grades K-8.

The Taylor Community Consulting Program (TCCP) connects student teams with local non-profits. These teams tackle the problems the non-profits face in a consulting engagement, developing a solution for their client while maintaining regular communication with the non-profit to ensure their satisfaction.

As a part of TCCP, our team developed a feasibility study to determine the likelihood of KIPP St. Louis opening and operating a high performing college-preparatory high school. The study's contents included an executive summary, a competitive landscape analysis, a SWOT analysis, administrator and student interviews, and an opening plan. After creating our feasibility analysis and formulating a solution, we presented our findings to KIPP St. Louis' board of directors and other interested parties.

North Highland

---

North Highland is a global consulting firm with a differentiated business model. Instead of centralizing operations at a large main office and flying consultants to their engagements, North Highland opens branches where their clients are. In 2010, North Highland opened a St. Louis branch.

As a part of a Management Communications course, our team developed a communication strategy to aid the St. Louis branch of North Highland in increasing its presence and preference in the region. Our analysis included an executive summary, an industry report, an audience profile, and various potential vehicles and messaging strategies to bolster North Highland's position in St. Louis. After developing our comprehensive communication strategy, we presented our solutions to the St. Louis' branch's upper management.
